How To Maximise Your Appointment
At Northpoint Medical, we want your consultation to be as productive and beneficial as possible. Preparation helps your doctor understand your needs clearly and ensures you get the best possible care. Here are some tips to help you maximise your appointment:
1. Come Prepared
Before your visit:
- Write down your main concerns or symptoms so you don’t forget anything during your consult;
- Bring any relevant medical records, pathology results or imaging reports you may already have;
- Bring a list of all medications, vitamins or supplements you’re currently taking (including doses).
2. Think About Your Questions
Doctors can only address what you raise during your consultation. It helps to:
- List all questions you want answered;
- Prioritise the most important ones in case time runs short.
3. Be Honest & Detailed
Providing clear and accurate information — even about things that may seem small — helps your doctor make the right decisions about your care.
4. Allow Enough Time
If you have multiple concerns or need a longer discussion (for example, mental health review, complex symptoms or preventive care planning), please let reception know when booking. This allows us to allocate enough time for your visit.
5. Follow Up as Needed
If you’re asked to get tests or follow up appointments, please do so promptly. Follow ups help us monitor progress and adjust treatment if needed.
6. Update Contact & Health Information
If your
phone number, address, Medicare or concession details change, let us know — this helps us contact you about results, recalls or future care.
